"a rare photo from my time a VALVE Corp. You can see hints of comics we were trying to make there on the walls. I think this was an interview for a game site interested in comics too. I wanted for us to make Valve comics weekly, TF comics, we tried really hard on making a Half Life comic, even Counter-Strike, anything on a regular/consistent basis so fans can stop in for updates/message boards and get new comics every either daily or twice a weekly. We made some massive comics with Left 4 Dead, Portal 2 and ball cracking funnies with Team Fortress, but I was never able to get comics to compete with the games so the dream of a Valve web series never happened. I really wanted to see one of the properties be a regular ongoing we comic but it never happened. Resources really did need to go into the games, not into making comics every day. They continue do great TF and Saxton Hale comics, always expanding the world for fans. Id still love to see them do a weekly ongoing TF comic! Comics and game fans/sites have so much in common but there is a gap between the two that I’m sure will ever close up the way I hoped it would. I think games are just too powerful for us lil ol comics. I didn’t quite fit in there, but I sure gave it a shot! Eventually I came back to comics full time, but wow, did I learn a lot, I really expanded my digital world, made friends and had some great times at Valve!"
