overviewValve is a computer game development company founded by Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington and based in Kirkland, Washington. Since its inception in 1996, Valve has licensed the Quake engine from id software, signed a publishing deal with Sierra On-Line, and hired a staff of 20, all of whom have equity in the company. Valve's first product is Half-Life, a first-person action game that will be available from Sierra On-Line in late 1997.
Valve is also working on a second, unannounced game.
